PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Neighbors on a quiet street in Bloomfield were awakened by the sound of gunfire Friday morning.
They looked outside on Cypress Street around 10 a.m. and saw two men arguing. One then pulled a gun and started shooting. A neighbor counted up to five shells on the ground.
"I heard five quick pops and I cautiously looked out my door," a witness said. "I did see a person in a bright white T-shirt and red shorts running on Cypress toward Baum."
One of the bullets crashed through the living room window of one home. A woman said she was in her living room but was not hurt.
She said her sister and a neighbor chased the gunman down Cypress toward UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
UPMC issued the following statement:
"A lockdown at UPMC Shadyside has been lifted following this morning's report of a person with a weapon near the campus.. UPMC security and law enforcement collaborated to ensure that there was no threat to patients, employees or visitors."
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police.
