TANNERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck in the Poconos in eastern Pennsylvania has claimed the lives of two people.

Police say the crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 715 in Pocono Township.

The Monroe County coroner’s office said 47-year-old pickup driver Richard Rascona Junior of Cresco was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the pickup, 35-year-old Dwayne Scroggs, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, where he was pronounced dead on Saturday evening.

Authorities say it’s unclear how the collision occurred, and the accident remains under investigation.
