Grammy Winner Cardi B Says She's Sharing Best Rap Album Award With Mac Miller

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Rapper Cardi B says she's sharing her Grammy award with late Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller.

Miller, a Point Breeze native, was posthumously nominated for his first Grammy this year. His album "Swimming" was up for Best Rap Album, but the honor went to Cardi B for her album "Invasion of Privacy."

Cardi posted a video on Instagram after her win, thanking her friends, family and supporters. At the end of the video, she said she was sharing the award with Miller.

"You wanna know something? I read an article that Mac Miller's family said that if he don't win, they want me to win, so I'm sharing this Grammy with you mother******. Rest in peace," she said.

She later posted a screenshot of an Us Weekly article with the headline, "Mac Miller's Family Is 'Rooting for Cardi B' If He Doesn't Win at the Grammys."

She captioned it, "WE WON A F***** GRAMMY."

According to People, Ariana Grande expressed her disappointment that Miller lost on Twitter, but she later deleted the tweets. Grande and Miller dated for two years. They ended their relationship a few months before Miller's death.

Miller died from an accidental drug overdose in September at his home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County coroner's report said Miller died of "mixed toxicity," saying cocaine, alcohol and the powerful opioid fentanyl were found in his system.
