Man In Critical Condition After Larimer Shooting

LARIMER (KDKA) -- A man was in critical condition Sunday night after reportedly being shot in the neck in the city's Larimer neighborhood.
It happened in the middle of the day, Saint Patrick's Day afternoon. An eyewitness to the shooting spoke only to KDKA.
Despite the Shetland Street neighborhood being full of residents who came out of their homes following the shooting, police are asking for help and for witnesses to talk to them.
"I seen this dude shoot after this man in the car," an eyewitness to the shooting told KDKA News. "He started running up the thing. He shot about three times. When I ran past, I stopped and looked at the hole in the man's neck and I just fell out."
Zone 5 officers and the crime scene unit responded to the scene where detectives could be seen placing evidence markers and processing the black Acura with the baby on board sign.
"His son was right in the other side of the car," the eyewitness said.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m., and police say they aren't sure where exactly the victim was shot, only that the male victim was found inside the car.
"EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition," Chris Togneri, the Public Information Officer for the City of Pittsburgh's Public Safety Department, said.
Emotions overflowed as residents came out of their homes, watching as evidence was collected.
"He needed a bandage, so I took my shirt off and just... I hope he's alright," the eyewitness told KDKA News.
"We're looking for witnesses and the investigation has just begun," Togneri said.
Police also hope the camera on the light pole at the intersection of Shetland and Lowell Streets near the shooting will help the investigation.
Police are urging anyone with any information to call them at (412) 323-7161. The victim's name has not been released. At last check, he was still listed in critical condition.
