Wayward Cows Get Loose Along Road In Murrysville

MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) -- Murrysville Police are asking for the public's help as they try to track down and round up some cows that have gone on the run.

According to the police department's Facebook page, about nine Black Angus cows are loose in the area of School Road South and Boxcartown Road.

They were last spotted in the area of Manor Valley Golf Course.

Police say they have not been able to catch them or find out who owns them.

Officers were going to nearby farms, asking the owners if they are missing any cows, but so far, nothing has turned up.

One person reported they actually hit one of the cows with his car. According to reports, the cow headed off to the woods, no worse for wear.

Dennis Fink, an 85-year-old cattle farmer, says as nice as cattle are, they're not too smart and they don't need much to be happy on their own.

"They'll just go where the food and water is," he said.

They are asking anyone with information on the owners to give them a call at 724-327-2100 ext. 200, or dial 911.
