According to Pennsylvania State Police, the shooting happened during an undercover narcotics operation.

Police say the 27-year-old suspect failed to comply with troopers' verbal commands.

When officers were trying to take him into custody, the suspect allegedly drove in the direction of several officers, rammed into an occupied state police vehicle, then accelerated toward officers who were on foot.

The officers then fired at the vehicle.

The suspect was struck twice in his arm. He also suffered facial and head injuries from bullet fragments.

He is being treated at a local trauma hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear what charges the suspect faces.
