Kenmawr Bridge Replacement Project Underway

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Crews are working on a heavily traveled bridge between Rankin and Swissvale.

They are replacing the old Kenmawr Bridge, which is a popular route to Kennywood.

Crews will build a temporary bridge to route traffic until the work is complete.

Once it is complete, the new bridge will be higher.

It will allow taller railroad cars to run underneath and also help with the future expansion of the East Busway.
