Coronavirus Coverage: Gambling Down 84 Percent In April Despite Big Revenue Increase From Online Casino Games
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Online gambling saw a big increase last month.
Online casino games generated about $43 million in April. That is up 73 percent from March.
But it wasn't nearly enough to make up for the closures of the casinos and lack of sports to bet on.
Overall, gambling was down 84 percent this April compared to last.
That also meant nearly $100 million less in tax revenue.
