Allegheny County Police Investigating Fatal West Mifflin Shooting

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Police are investigating a late night shooting the Monview Heights housing complex in West Mifflin.

West Mifflin Police were dispatched to the Monview Heights housing complex along Midway Drive just after 11 p.m. Monday night for a report of shots fired and a male who had been shot and was lying in a yard. 

When officers arrived, they discovered 45-year-old Thomas Johnson, of Duquense, who had been shot in the face and in the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

West Mifflin Police requested the assistance of Allegheny County Police.

Allegheny County Police and scientists from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene.

Allegheny County Detectives are continuing their investigation and are working to determine a motive and possible suspect(s).
