SWAT Called To Peters Township For Gunman Barricaded Inside Home With Hostage

PETERS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) - A SWAT team was called to a scene in Peters Township after it was a reported a gunman had barricaded inside a home with a hostage.

911 dispatchers confirmed a SWAT situation on East McMurray Road in Peters Township, Washington County.

The Peters Township fire department said the road was closed from Center Church Road to Inverness Drive because of an "active police incident." People were warned to avoid the area.

Police say they were alerted about a gunman barricaded inside the home with a hostage. That's when SWAT moved in and two people inside came out about an hour and a half later.

East McMurray Road has since reopened and the fire department says the scene isn't active anymore.
