First Tee Hosts Summer Invitational Kids Golf Tournament At Bob O'Connor Golf Course

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Young golfers were teeing it up on Saturday for the Summer Invitational Kids Golf Tournament.

First Tee Pittsburgh, an organization that develops young golfers, teamed up with Isaly's for the tournament at Bob O'Connor Golf Course in Schenley Park.

The tournament included competition for less-experienced golfers from beginners to more experienced players.

The competition featured numerous events in different skill levels, and the winners were as follows:

  • Girls 3-hole SHORT – For beginners ages 7-9 and in the PLAYer level -- Katherine Mahler, of Pittsburgh
  • Boys 3-hole SHORT – For beginners ages 7-9 and in the PLAYer level -- Eli Snyder, of Butler
  • Girls 3-hole LONG – For beginners ages 10-12 and in the PLAYer and PAR levels -- Taylor Rittler, of Sewickley
  • Boys 3-hole LONG – For beginners ages 10-12 and in the PLAYer and PAR levels -- Andrew N., of Pittsburgh
  • Girls 6-hole SHORT – For participants ages 13+ who have played in the 3-hole division and are in First Tee's Birdie level -- Kate Mazefsky, of Wexford
  • Boys 6-hole SHORT – For participants ages 13+ who have played in the 3-hole division and are in First Tee's Birdie level -- Charlie Wanless, of Pittsburgh
  • Girls 9-hole LONG – This OPEN is for participants ages 13+ who are experienced in competitive golf and ready to play the long tees on the "Bob 9." Participants are typically Birdie level or above -- Tori Slagle, of Pittsburgh
  • Boys 9-hole LONG – This OPEN is for participants ages 13+ who are experienced in competitive golf and ready to play the long tees on the "Bob 9." Participants are typically Birdie level or above -- Patrick Bush, of Rostraver Township
