NORTH HILLS (KDKA) — A man known in the North Hills for decades as the “Egg Man” has died.

Richard Eichner, owner of Eichner’s Family Farm in Wexford, died on Sunday. Eichner began delivering eggs with his father 80 years ago when he was 7 years old.

When KDKA profiled him two years ago, Eichner was still delivering eggs twice a week, covering more than 100 miles a day and making some 150 stops per week.
