PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Hunters harvested 3,600 black bears in Pennsylvania last year, making it the sixth-best season.

It was around 1,000 fewer bears than the record of 4,600 that was set in 2019.

Locally, Fayette County had the highest harvest numbers with 43 bears, followed closely behind Butler County with 42.

There were three bears harvested in Allegheny County.
