PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Port Authority’s police force will soon be equipped with body cameras and tasers.

The Port Authority’s Technology Committee will meet with the board of directors to approve a contract.

If approved, the 48 officers on the force would receive the gear by early next year.

The body cameras will automatically turn on when the taser is removed from the officer’s holster.
