The Fourth of July brings parades, fireworks and picnics to mind as our country celebrates it's birthday and the long, hot days of summer. From a fun filled street fair to a music filled fireworks display, you will find fun celebrations big and small throughout Pittsburgh for this favorite holiday. Put on your sunblock and head out to one of these great Fourth of July celebrations this year.

Although there are many places around the city to view one of the country's top Fourth of July fireworks displays, the fireworks are actually shot off at Point State Park over the Allegheny River. Watch this beautiful display set to captivating music at the end of an enjoyable day out at the annual Three Rivers Regatta. Celebrations, including music and food vendors throughout the park, start earlier at 1 p.m., but the fireworks begin with a 21 gun salute shortly after the sun goes down.

Across the river in the Northside, you can enjoy a day of Fourth of July fun at Heinz Field. Admission is free and the fun starts 2:00 p.m. Enjoy a day of concerts, food vendors and a meet and greet with Steely McBeam. WDVE, Froggy and Y108 radio stations will also be there with fun and music throughout the day. At 9:35, watch the sky light up with an impressive fireworks display over the stadium.

Cruise the river and watch the cities celebrations from the deck of the Gateway Clipper riverboat. Enjoy a full dinner buffet with DJ and dancing for a full evening of fun. Finish the evening viewing fireworks displays along the river. Tickets are $70 each and the cruise boards at 6:30 p.m. at Station Square and finishes at 10 p.m.

Enjoy two days of celebration at the Brentwood July Fourth Celebration. The celebration starts with a street fair on the evening of July 3rd and continues through fireworks in the evening of July 4th. Celebrate the birth of our nation all week at Kennywood. Kennywood will have live patriotic music throughout the week and nightly fireworks as weather permits. Other activities include a hot dog eating contest and a fun and funny annual dog race.
