Best Of 'Ballet Under The Stars' At Hartwood Acres

Whether you are an avid ballet fan or just looking for an exciting night out, you will definitely enjoy this free performance.

Hartwood Acres is hosting the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's annual free performance of "Ballet Under The Stars."

Thursday, Aug. 18
7:30 p.m. - Performance
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Kids Activities

Free Performance By The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

You get to see one of the top ballet companies in the country perform a mix of repertoire, from classical to Balanchine to jazzy, outside under the stars. While you would usually have to pay to see them at the theater in downtown Pittsburgh, here you can see the same dancers perform for free!

Free Activities To Keep Kids Busy

While you enjoy dinner on the lawn, the kids will be busy with activities, including:

  • Bounce House obstacle course
  • Sports, including footballs, soccer balls, badminton
  • Crafts
  • Entertainment with Miss Lilly's Teas
  • Ballet class
  • Photos with ballerinas on KDKA-TV and to buy
  • Get your hair put in a ballerina bun

Bring Your Own Food & Drinks To Enjoy Before And During The Show

You can bring your own picnic, as simple or as elaborate as you like, and enjoy it on the lawn before and during the performance.

If You Don't Want To Picnic, Buy Dinner There

The ballet has a tent with dinner, drinks and dessert provided. It is also a fundraiser for the ballet. It costs $75 for adults and $20 for children over 12. Children 12 and under are free.You also get to meet and mingle with the dancers in the tent and can reserve seating in chairs.
