Best Student Discounts For Sporting Events

Pittsburghers love their sports teams, but while there are almost always sporting events to attend, the cost is sometimes steep. If you are a student, though, you can get discounts to some of these sporting events just by showing your college ID card.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have teamed up with American Eagle to present Student Rush tickets to selected games throughout the season. For each Student Rush game, at least 400 tickets will be reserved for students only. The tickets will go on sale one hour prior to game time at a designated gate. Students will need to present their college ID and $25 cash to purchase these reserved tickets. There is a one ticket limit per student. The Pittsburgh Pirates and American Eagle present College Cove Fridays. For just $20 students can get a ticket, a t-shirt, and a $10 food or drink voucher. The Pittsburgh Steelers have also teamed up with American Eagle to create the American Eagle College Blitz Program. This program is only available to college students with a valid ID. The College Blitz Program gives away two free tickets to Steelers home games. This program is only available to college students with a valid ID. To enter into the contest, simply text "BLITZ" to 76274. A text message will be sent to the winner two days prior to each home game. If you are a winner, you simply pick up your passes at Gate A two hours before kick-off. You may also visit the Steelers website for the official rules.

Pittsburgh is welcoming its first arena football team to the city! The Pittsburgh Power will play eight home games for a season beginning in April of 2011. Since this is only the first season for the team, they are not currently running any student specials. However, tickets in the upper level of the CONSOL Center can be purchased for as little as $15.
