Steelers beat writer for the Post-Gazette and Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined Seibel and Starkey to help preview Sunday’s AFC North matchup between the Steelers and Bengals.

Ed said the Steelers should be able to avoid a letdown because the Bengals swept them last year and they’ll use that as motivation to ensure this doesn’t become a trap game after the big win last week in Baltimore.  Despite all the question marks surrounding the Bengals though, Ed points out they still have plenty of fight left in them and showed that last week when they should have beaten the Saints.

In light of Dave Wannstedt “resigning” from Pitt, Ed talked about how close the former Panthers coach was to becoming the Steelers Head Coach when Bill Cowher got the job.  Ed compared it to how close the decision was between Mike Tomlin and Russ Grimm.

Ed also discussed a potential playoff matchup for the Steelers including the New England Patriots and said Defensive Coordinator Dick Lebeau has already promised if they face the Patriots again, there will be a much different outcome.
