PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Freezing drizzle and sleet made for slick conditions this morning, but now temperatures will be warming up, bringing a nice thaw to the area.

KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman says the temperature will warm to about 40 degrees this afternoon.

However, rain showers will be arriving for the afternoon and evening, and as cold air wraps back into the region that rain will change over to snow late tonight.

Bowman says to expect about an inch or so of accumulation by morning, which would slicken things up again for Wednesday morning’s rush hour.

The low for tonight will be around 27 degrees, and it won’t warm up much Wednesday with a high of about 30 and some light snow.

It looks like cold air will take hold for the second half of the week with highs just reaching the teens by Friday and Saturday.
