Snow Covers Western Pa.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – With more than five-inches of snow falling overnight, conditions on the roads of Western Pennsylvania are pretty tricky this morning.

The first flakes started falling yesterday afternoon; but what began as a light snow after lunch became increasingly heavier through the evening hours.

As crews work to try and clear the main roads of all that snow and ice today, there is some good news: KDKA Meteorologist Dennis Bowman says most of the snow has already fallen.

While some bands of snow moving through the region could still drop another half-inch or so; the snow showers will stop by this afternoon.

Once the snow stops falling, the region will be dealing with some frigid temperatures as an arctic air mass settles into the area.
