Fans Pose With Lombardi Ice Sculpture At Wholey's

STRIP DISTRICT (KDKA) -- For fans who can't wait for the Steelers to bring home the Lombardi Trophy, they'll have to settle for another Lombardi, for now.

"I think it's great and I'm hoping they come back with another statue," Thelma Grace, of McKees Rocks, said.

Steelers fans can get their picture with it all weekend at Wholey's Fish Market in the Strip District.

"It's nice! I took a picture of it. I'm gonna post it on Facebook tonight," Jessica Beatty said.

The real Lombardi Trophy is made of sterling silver, 22-inches high and weighs seven pounds.

The Lombardi at Wholey's?

"I'd say probably 500 – about 500 pounds," Adriana Contreras said. "Looks it's a little a heavy. Like from here up. Yes, I would say about that much."

Owner Dan Wholey says this ice replica stands about 6-feet tall and weighs almost 600 pounds.

"It's certainly a beautiful statue very picturesque, very artistic," he said. "It's to … commemorate the start of the weekend. And hopefully we'll have a victory Sunday night."

It took Scott Thomas with "Mastro Ice" in the Hill District eight hours to sculpt and create the ice Lombardi.
