PennDOT Crews Hit Roads In Butler County
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- PennDOT crews were out in force Monday night as rain changed over to snow in much of the area.
"As the temperatures drop, things will freeze, and we may have some issues," Jeff Hartzell, PennDOT assistant Butler County maintenance manager, said.
Hartzell said crews will work overnight to make the Tuesday morning commute as smooth as possible.
"Crews will be out all night. We'll have this crew on [until] midnight. We'll have another crew come out at midnight and work until noon tomorrow," said Hartzell.
Despite all the trucks out salting, some spots on Interstate 79 and Route 422 had a coating of snow in the passing lanes and some side streets were slick.
