Penn State Snaps 3-Game Losing Streak

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA/AP) Penn State's Talor Battle led the team with 19 points during Sunday's 65-41 win over Northwestern.

Battle's effort put him over 2,000 points for his career.

The Nittany Lions (13-11, 6-7 Big Ten) welcomed leading rebounder, Jeff Brooks, back to the lineup. He was sidelined last week after injuring his shoulder against Illinois. In his return, he scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Tim Frazier scored 12 points and David Jackson added 11 to snap the Nittany Lions' three-game losing streak.

Penn State led 24-15 at the half and secured the win by opening the second half with a 21-7 run.

Battle joined Wisconsin's Alando Tucker as the Big Ten's only 2,000-point scorers in the past decade.

This week, Penn State will face Minnesota on Thursday at home before going on the road to face No. 13 Wisconsin on Sunday.
