Man Facing More Charges After Exposing Self In Public

GREENSBURG (KDKA) - A Mount Pleasant man is facing more charges after exposing himself in more public places in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.

State police were called to Westmoreland Mall around 4:30 p.m. Sunday after a woman reported being flashed by a man in a blue jogging suit. The woman was sitting on a bench outside of the Dollar Store.

Another woman reported a similar incident as she was picking up a pizza in the food court.

The man in the blue jogging suit was 69-year-old Ronald Shaffer.

He told police he had a medical condition that was causing him to commit the acts in question.

Police say their investigation has revealed that Shaffer was committing the acts on purpose. He was taken into custody on Sunday and is being held in the Westmoreland County Jail.

Shaffer has been wanted since Jan. 5 when he was caught pleasuring himself outside of the Walmart in East Huntingdon.

In that instance, he twice ran over an employee who confronted him.

Shaffer is also suspected of committing lewd acts outside of another Walmart in Fayette County.

Police believe there could be additional victims in the most recent incident at Westmoreland Mall.

If you believe you were a victim, you are asked to contact State Police in Greensburg.
