Man In Wheelchair Victimized In Home Invasion

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP(KDKA) -- A paraplegic in a wheelchair who also suffers from MS was attacked last weekend by two men who broke into his home in the Windsor Highlands housing plan.

South Strabane Township Police say the man who is in his 40's was beaten about the head with a gun. His life was threatened and items were stolen from his home, including credit cards.

The credit cards were used a few hours later at several convenience stores in Washington, Pa. to buy cigarettes. Police were able to get surveillance video of the suspects at the Get Go at Wylie and Jefferson Avenue.

They are described as light-skinned males. They are both 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall. One was wearing dark clothing and a pink scarf. The second suspect was wearing a black vest over a gray military jacket with a distinct stripe on the shoulder.

Police say the victim is still too shaken up and he doesn't want his name to be used.

South Strabane Township Police hope someone will recognize the suspects so that arrests can be made.
