Jacksonville Sharks Beat Pittsburgh Power 65-40

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Jacksonville Sharks took a bite out of the Pittsburgh Power at CONSOL Energy Center Saturday night.

The Sharks (4-1) pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring the Power (2-3) 24-7 en route to a 65-40 win.

The loss was the second straight for the Power and dropped them to 1-3 at home.

Despite the loss, the Power are still second in the American Conference East Division behind the Cleveland Gladiators (3-1).

Quarterback Anthony Morelli completed 20 of his 36 passes for 290 yard and five touchdowns.

His counterpart, Aaron Garcia, was 31 of 44 for 297 yards and five touchdowns for the Sharks.

The Sharks' running game proved to be the difference in the contest. Kirby Griffin and Jamarko Simmons each had two rushing touchdowns, while the Power only scored once on the ground.

Sale Key led the way for the Sharks with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Jason Willis caught eight passes for 100 yards and a touchdown, while Lonnel DeWalt caught four passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

The Power will go on the road to take on the New Orleans VooDoo (1-4) Thursday night at 8:05 p.m.
