Pitt Gets Another Transfer

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pitt football program has received its third transfer this offseason and it's another former player from the WPIAL.

Former Gateway Gator Brendon Felder has decided to leave North Carolina and plans on playing for the Pitt Panthers.

Felder, a redshirt freshman, picked North Carolina over Pitt and a few other ACC schools.

As a part of the Class of 2010, Felder was a 3-star recruit and the 13th best player in Pennsylvania.

After injuring his knee as a high school senior in January 2010, Felder wound up redshirting this past fall at UNC. After taking part in spring drills, Felder's knee is said to be 100%.

Felder has gone back and forth between playing wide receiver and cornerback while with the Tar Heels. It's believed that he'll play wide receiver at Pitt.

According to TarHeelIllustrated.com, Felder received his formal release from North Carolina on Monday, and he will be able to transfer in hopes of being able to play immediately next season due to a family hardship.
