Patrick Chambers Named PSU Head Basketball Coach
STATE COLLEGE (KDKA) -- Penn State has found a new head basketball coach.
Patrick Chambers now becomes Penn State's 12th head basketball coach in its history.
Chambers is leaving his post at Boston University where he led his team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002 last season.
His record over the last two years was 42-28.
"I am truly honored and excited to be joining the Penn State family," Chambers said in a press release from Penn State. "I'm looking forward to bringing passion, energy and enthusiasm to Nittany Lion Basketball. We will play a style, and bring an attitude, that Nittany Nation can be proud of."
Chambers will be formally introduced at a press conference on Monday.
Chambers is filling the vacancy left by Ed DeChellis when he accepted a position at NAVY.
