Westmoreland Co. Man Accused Of Raping Child
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- A man from Westmoreland County is in the Fayette County Prison charged with raping a child over a four-year period.
The child is now a teenager. She was silent about the alleged assaults for seven years.
The little girl was only 9 or 10-years old when her big sister's boyfriend began the alleged sexual assaults.
State Police say the assaults went on from 2004 to 2008.
John Thomas, Jr., 34, of Alverton, is accused of forcing the child to perform sexual acts on him and videotaping those acts.
He's charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, statutory sexual assault and other violations.
The girl is now 16.
She never told her family about the alleged sexual assaults.
They say they only learned about it after State police came into possession of a DVD containing the videotaped footage.
