NEW CASTLE (KDKA) – One man was killed in a Wednesday morning shooting in Lawrence County.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 300-block of East Street in New Castle around 8:06 a.m.

Jason Pegg, 32, was shot twice in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have arrested 38-year-old Kevin Boyer and he will be charged with criminal homicide.

Boyer was the landlord of the apartment building in which both men resided.

Prior to the shooting, there was a verbal argument between the men.
