Pirates Activate Presley and D'Arnaud

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates will be getting a major injection of speed into their lineup for tonight's game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals.

Outfielder Alex Presley and infielder Chase d'Arnaud are being activated from the disabled list and both will be in uniform for tonight's game.

Both players were removed from the Indianapolis (AAA) starting lineup last night and flew to St. Louis to join the Pirates.

Presley has been on the disabled list since July 23 with a left thumb contusion. He was hitting .333 in 20 games before getting injured. d'Arnaud has been on the disabled list since July 27 with a broken right pinky. He was hitting .225 in 25 games.

The team will have to make two corresponding moves to make room on the 25-man roster for Presley and d'Arnaud.

It's likely that the team will option Aaron Thompson and Pedro Ciriaco to the minors.
