HENRY CLAY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Two people were killed in a Fayette County crash Sunday morning.

According to State Police, the accident happened on Martin Road in Henry Clay Township around 6 a.m.

A Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound side of the road. The driver lost control, went off the road and struck a tree.

Both occupants in the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

They have been identified as Donald Griffith, 42, and Richard Svenungsen, 42, both of Markleysburg.

The road was closed for about three hours, but has since reopened.
