Vigil Held For Teen Killed In Wilkinsburg

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) - A vigil was held Sunday night to remember a teenager who was shot to death one year ago in Wilkinsburg.

So far, there have been no arrests, which has only added to the pain for the teen's family.

Jason Paylor, 17, was killed as he walked out of a building on South Avenue.

With tear-stained faces, Paylor's family gathered on the one year anniversary of his death to remember and to ask for the public's help.

No one has come forward with information about his killer.

"It was broad daylight. Somebody knows something. They are probably sitting there watching. They probably know something. Why don't you turn yourself in?" Paylor's mother, Lisa White, said.

Paylor's family is looking for justice and are hoping for an end to community violence overall.

They said they have no idea why the budding artist and inventor was gunned down at close range and won't know until someone is arrested.

"We want to know why? Why, 17-years-old, bright student, never been in trouble with the law, anything. Never did anything to hurt anyone," Kossandra White said.

The family is hoping someone will come forward and contact police.
