Officer Dragged By Sleeping Driver In Friendship

FRIENDSHIP (KDKA) – A police officer was injured after being dragged by a car in Pittsburgh's Friendship neighborhood.

According to police, the officer was attempting to wake a sleeping driver near the intersection of South Negley Avenue and Eva Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver became frightened and started to take off. The officer was dragged about 15 feet and is recovering from knee injuries.

There is no word if charges will be filed at this time.
