PITTSBURGH (NEWSRADIO 1020 KDKA) — It’s the annual Pennsylvania/West Virginia MUFON Convention, a gathering of UFO and Bigfoot believers happening right here in Western Pa.

John Ventre, of MUFON, joined KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert and John Shumway to talk about what they do at their convention – and what they believe is out there.

“When we do our scientific researches, we get down to about only three to five percent that we can’t explain,” said Ventre. “The other 95, 97 percent, we’re actually able to explain it scientifically, that they’re satellites or aircrafts or misidentifications or hoaxes, but that three to five percent is pretty incredible when you interview the witnesses.”

Ventre says the UFO conference will be on Saturday, and then the Bigfoot conference will be held on Sunday.

“We’re having our fourth annual UFO conference at Westmoreland Community College Saturday, and I spoke to the Bigfoot Society because they haven’t done a conference since 2008 – and I said to them, why don’t we do it as a two-day conference,” he said. “So, Sunday is the Bigfoot conference and Saturday is Mutual UFO Network’s UFO Conference.”
