McKeesport Boy Forced Off School Bus, Mother Says

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- A McKeesport couple is angry at a local bus company after their 7-year-old son was dropped off nowhere near his daycare center.

Candice Graham says her son, C.J., a second grader at George Washington Elementary School, usually takes the bus from his school to the Tender Care Learning Center at UPMC McKeesport on weekdays because she and her husband work.

She told KDKA-TV her son was told to get off the bus Thursday about a 10-minute drive away from his normal stop. He got off the bus because he was taught to listen to adults.

The boy was familiar with the area because his relatives lived there. He went to his cousin's house to call his parents for help.

Graham says she's not satisfied with the response from the bus company.

"She told me this was not the driver's fault and then I stopped her," she said. "And I said, 'You know, this was her fault. Her mouth is her fault. She said to my son, "Get off the bus."'"

"And I said, 'She endangered my child.'"

KDKA-TV made phone calls to the bus company, Pennsylvania Coach Lines, but the calls were not returned.
