The family courts make great efforts to keep children with their biological families. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible. Sometimes adoption is a better alternative.
“It’s really one of the great days of the year because it’s really happy endings. These children who have been through the system have had a lot of trauma are now having permanent homes,” Marc Cherna, Director of Allegheny County Department of Human Services said.
National Adoption Day is held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
