Robert Morris Beats Hampton, 64-54

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) -- Velton Jones scored 18 points and Lucky Jones added 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench as Robert Morris defeated Hampton 64-54 Tuesday night.

Lucky Jones scored five points and Velton Jones four during a 12-4 run that increased a four-point lead for the Colonials (9-3) to 59-47 with 5:53 remaining.

Coron Williams scored all 10 of his points in the second half for Robert Morris, and Mike McFadden scored 11 for the Colonials in his second game since becoming eligible after sitting out a year as required by NCAA transfer rules.

Robert Morris led 17-7 with 12:03 remaining until halftime, but the Pirates (4-8), led by David Bruce, closed the gap to 31-28 at the break. Bruce scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the opening 20 minutes and finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Hampton's loss was its fourth in a row.
