PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland is scheduled to have a hearing with the NHL some time before the Penguins game Friday at Winnipeg.

The hearing will be over the phone and is in regards to Engelland’s hit on Chicago center Marcus Kruger Tuesday night. Engelland hit Kruger from behind and appeared to leave his feet, making contact to Kruger’s head with his forearm.

Kruger is being evaluated and may have suffered a concussion from the hit.
