PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has been fully medically cleared by team doctors, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Letang will join the team for its game day skate today. He won’t play tonight against Carolina at Consol Energy Center, but Penguins general manager Ray Shero said Letang could return to game action before the All-Star break.

Letang has been out since Nov. 26, when he suffered a concussion against the Montreal Canadiens. Letang was blindsided with a hit and left the game, only to later return and score the game-winning goal in overtime.

He has been out of the lineup ever since.
