Man Steals Donation Jar From Local Dairy Queen

UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Donations meant for the Children's Miracle Network were stolen from a local Dairy Queen.

Police are hoping surveillance video from inside the store will lead them to a suspect.

"To victimize a non-profit organization that's clearly trying to raise funds for kids – that just adds a flavor to this that's just incredible," Southwest Regional Police Chief John Hartman said.

The video shows the suspect walking into the Dairy Queen on Route 88 in Union Township, Washington County, around 2 p.m. Saturday and placing an order.

Then while the clerk is getting the order, the suspect grabs the jar which has about $60 in donations and takes it to his car.

He came back inside collect his order.

"You would wonder why someone would do something like this," Hartman added. "There's no words to explain it I think."

The suspect is a white male in his 20's. He's believed to be driving a silver Ford SUV. If you think you recognize him, contact Southwest Regional Police.
