Bucs: Pirates & McGehee Strike Deal, Jones Loses Arbitration Case
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pittsburgh's first base situation became much more clear Thursday.
The Pirates signed Casey McGehee to a $2,537,500 contract for the 2012 season, avoiding arbitration. He made $468,000 last year.

Both are expected to see significant time at first base in 2012. McGehee also plays third base and Jones doubles as a right fielder.
McGehee hit .223 with 13 home runs and 67 RBIs in 2011. He had a breakout year in 2011, hitting .285 with 23 homers and 104 RBIs. Jones hit .243 with 16 home runs and 58 RBIs in 2011.
