National Movement To Get Kids To Start School Later

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Most kids in the United States go to school at 7 a.m. or earlier, but is that too early?

A grassroots organization of teachers, parents, and educational experts say that if you start school later and end it later, you would have more alert students, better attendance, and less time kids can get in trouble after school. Sounds like a no-brainer, right?

KDKA-AM's Larry and John talk to Terra Ziporyn Snider, Ph.D, an educational writer and member of Start School Later, about how her organization is trying to get Congress to mandate an 8 a.m. start for all schools in the U.S. Is it a good idea?
