Part Of Abandoned House Collapses On North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A three-story brick wall came crashing to the ground and neighbors say it felt like an earthquake.

The thunderous "boom" was heard for blocks around after part of the abandoned house collapsed at the corner of Armandale and Monterey Streets on the city's North Side.

Ron Modro lives six doors down.

"The whole building shook. It kind of felt when I was living in L.A. – my very first earthquake," Modro said at the scene.

Steve Jones told KDKA's Kym Gable, "We watched it in slow motion. Just came down real hard. Nobody was walking by. Usually kids are walking at this time but not today, luckily."
