PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — The Philadelphia Flyers have a special ritual after games in Pittsburgh, before getting on their plane, they get a big order of ribs from DeeJay’s in Weirton, W. Va.

Hockey players are prone to superstition, and the players attribute their 5-0 record against the Penguins when playing in Pittsburgh to the fact that they have eaten those ribs after all five games. To them, they believe it’s a ritual that guarantees a win.

For the last regular season game, the Flyers play the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Dewey Guida, owner of DeeJay’s, says he won’t be selling any ribs to the Flyers; partly because he’s a huge Penguins fan, and partly because he’ll be closed the next day for Easter and can’t make the ribs.
