4-1-Zoo: Pitt's 2012 Basketball Recruiting Class Grows To Four

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt officially announced the signings of two more high school recruits Wednesday, growing Jamie Dixon's 2012 basketball recruiting class to four players.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Chris Jones and Trey Zeigler will join the program.

Jones, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound small forward, committed out of Teaneck N.J. He averaged 21.2 points a game as a high school senior, along with 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals.

For his high school career, Jones scored more than 1,300 points and finished with a 59-4 record in his final 63 games.

Zeigler, a 6-foot-5, 200 pound guard, transfers to Pitt after two years at Central Michigan. He attended CMU to play for his father, Ernie, despite receiving offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Duke coming out of high school.

Zeigler averaged 16 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in two years at Central Michigan.

Jones and Zeigler join center Steven Adams and guard James Robinson to give Dixon one of the best 2012 classes in the country. Before the announcement of Jones and Zeigler, Pitt's 2012 class was ranked in the top 15 in the country by most recruiting services.

That number figures to only rise with the additions of Jones and Zeigler.
