Motorcycle, Bus Collide In Fairywood
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man is recovering after an accident involving a Port Authority bus and a motorcycle in Pittsburgh's Fairywood section.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Broadhead Fording Road and Prospect Avenue.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Port Authority spokesperson Jim Ritchie reports that the motorcycle was trying to pass the bus.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle, which then ended up in a nearby tree.
The Post-Gazette reports that the bus driver, who was not hurt, is on paid leave pending an investigation, which is standard following accidents.
The motorcyclist was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, but there's no word on that person's condition.
