Gas Prices Fall In Time For Memorial Day Weekend

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Gas prices have been going down in recent weeks. It's all good news for Memorial Day weekend drivers.

"I don't think you're going to see any increases," Don Bowers, of Superior Petroleum, said. "I think if anything, you're going to see some decreases around the area."

The price for regular unleaded is still around $3.55.

"Anything over a dollar a gallon is not cheap," one driver said.

Nevertheless, some drivers say the gas prices won't affect their weekend.

"I can't change it so I really don't worry about it too much," another driver said.

After the holiday weekend, the downward trend will likely continue.

"Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I think that you're going to see the prices hold or stay down," Bowers said.

Meantime, police will be out in force this weekend.

"We don't have a quota system. We're not trying to make revenue for Ross Township," Ross Township Police Sgt. Ben Dripps said. "The goal is a simple one. It's traffic enforcement and it's safety."
