McKees Rocks Shooting Victim Dies In Hospital

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) – A college student, who was shot in McKees Rocks last week, died Saturday night.

According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner, Marshawn Ptomey died shortly before 9 p.m. at Allegheny General Hospital.

Ptomey was shot in the 300-block of Russellwood Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Thursday.

Allegheny County Police have filed charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and firearms violations against 17-year-old Destiny Brown from the Coraopolis area.

On Friday, police dropped charges against a 16-year-old. According to investigators, the teenager was there when the shooting happened, but they determined he did not pull the trigger.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Sunday.
