Sex Offender Charged With Groping Girl On Port Authority Bus

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A registered sex offender is accused of molesting a 4-year-old girl on a Port Authority bus.

Craig West, 47, of Garfield, was arrested by police at the intersection of Penn Avenue and South Millvale Street.

West lives on Rosetta Street and neighbors say the allegations are disturbing.

"He just looked kind of creepy and a little weird and I just knew something wasn't right with him," a neighbor told KDKA-TV. "I always stayed away from him."

No one answered when KDKA's Christine D'Antonio knocked on West's door. Neighbors say West lives with a woman and a special needs child.

Neighbors say they're also aware of West's sex offender listing.

"I'm glad they got him, they put him away, he [doesn't] need to come out," a neighbor said. "There's a lot of kids around here that need to be watched and that's all that matters."

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the bus.

West is in the Allegheny County Jail on $50,000 bond.
